T-Ball and Soccer and Swimming, Oh My!

Last spring Evan started playing t-ball.  On opening day they had the Bees mascot there and of course Evan did not hestitate in giving him a hug.  Evan is by far our friendliest kid and he is not afraid to talk to anyone.  This is both a good and a bad thing.  I love how he is not afraid to talk to people, but at the same time I can get very embarrassed by the questions he asks random people at the grocery store.
Honestly, I don't know if there is anything cuter or funnier than little boys playing t-ball.
Here Evan is at bat.  He is not sure what to do after he hits the ball.
And here he is with his mitt on the wrong hand.  He is also wearing the wrong hat.  He was on the White Sox team, but we lost his hat so we put him in a Cubs hat.  We have plenty of Cubs hats in this house and at least it was from the right city.
Also last spring, Audrey played soccer again.  I actually didn't get any pictures of her playing soccer because I was trying to keep Alivia and Evan entertained on the sidelines by taking their pictures.
And finally, the swimming lessons.  Both Audrey and Evan took swimming lessons during the first part of the summer.  I didn't get very good pictures, but they are in them.  Evan is in the picture below.  He is not afraid to put his face in the water and he can't wait to take lessons again this summer.
Audrey is in this picture below.  She hates putting her face in the water, but she still loves to take swimming lessons as long as she has her goggles.

Dad's Work Party - 2012

Shortly after school lets out for the summer, that means it is time for dad's work party.  This is one of the most anticipated days of the year for our kids.  Last year the party had a Hawaiin Luau theme.  As soon as we got there, the kids got their faces painted.  Evan picked the Superman logo.
Audrey wanted a flower.
And Alivia picked a butterfly.
They had dancers there and suprisingly Colby even got in on the slap dance action.
As we were leaving, we found the photo props and took a couple of pictures.

The kids are already extremely excited for this years party.  They just recently found out that it will be at Lagoon this year.

First to Last

I love taking pictures on the first and last day of school so I can compare the two.  The picture on the left is Audrey on her first day of first grade and the one below is her last day of first grade.

Alivia's 2nd Birthday

One more week passed and we celebrated Alivia's birthday, two days after her birthday.  She (really me) decided that she wanted a Minnie Mouse party.  The balloons were a flop, but the rest of the decorations weren't.
We had a hot diggity dog meal.
After dinner, we opened presents.  Alivia was thrilled that it was finally her turn to open presents.
After presents, it was time for cake.
Like the other two, she didn't have a good day on her actual birthday.  She stepped out onto our back deck without shoes on and burned the bottom of her feet.  She probably got 4 or 5 blisters on each foot and she was miserable for a good part of the day.

Evan's 4th Birthday

One week after we celebrated Audrey's birthday, we celebrated Evan's birthday.  He wanted a Tom & Jerry party.  I wish I had a better picture of his cake because it my favorite birthday cake I have ever made.  I don't know if you can tell from this picture, but it looked like a big cheese wedge.
Now on to the presents.  Again, Alivia was mad that none of them were for her.  At this point, she only had to wait one more week.
At the birthday celebration, my sister noticed some spots on Evan's chin and she said she thought they looked like impetigo.  I had thought they were just zits, but we of course took her advice and headed to the doctor the next day on his actual birthday.  After that, we went to the pharmacy to get his prescription because it was of course impetigo.

Audrey's 7th Birthday

For Audrey's 7th birthday she wanted a mermaid party.  I loved making the food and decorations for this party; one of my favorites so far. We celebrated a couple of days before her birthday with dinner, cake, and presents.
I didn't have very many close up pictures of Audrey.  I thought this one of Alivia was cute, but it wouldn't be her birthday for another 12 days.
Here is Audrey getting ready to blow out the candles.
After dinner and cake, it was time to open the presents.  Alivia kept trying to open all of the presents and she was very upset none of them were for her.  Unfortunately for her, she had to wait two more weeks to celebrate her birthday.
Two days later, on Audrey's actual birthday, she spent the day like this.  She woke up with a fever and the pukes.  She was very upset she had to miss school too.
It was so sad to watch her spend the day like this.

The Boys are Out of Town

The first weekend in May, Colby decided to take Evan to St. George.  He had some work down there and his younger brother was graduating from Dixie State.  Well, what are three girls to do when the boys go out of town?  Paint our nails and watch chick flicks of course.  And by chick flicks I mean Barbie and the Diamond Castle and Sleeping Beauty.  It was pretty hard to get a decent picture of the finished nails; this is the best I could get.

Of course we did other fun stuff too like take pictures of ourselves.
